Tom Holland's West End show Romeo & Juliet sells out in two hours after over 60,000 fans scrambled to get tickets
The frenzy for general sale tickets for his 12-week run, which kicks off on May 11 until August 3, began at midday, with all tickets seemingly sold out after 2pm.
Pre-sale started at 8am on Tuesday morning with thousands joining a virtual queue to see if they could be in with a chance at seeing the actor, 27, as romantic lead Romeo Montague at the Duke Of York Theatre. Taking to X, formerly Twitter, Tom's followers voiced their fears they may not be able to see him on stage as they waited in a virtual queue behind thousands of others for the priority access tickets. Romeo And Juliet is a story that has been staged hundreds of times on the West End and The Crown actor Josh O'Connor and Irish star Jessie Buckley appeared in a version of the play, filmed for TV inside the National Theatre in 2021.
