According to The Hollywood Reporter, Reynolds is developing a new concept that would pair Deadpool with a group of X-Men characters in what could be his first proper team-up movie within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This proposed ensemble movie would be separate from Marvel’s in-development X-Men reboot, which is currently being written by The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes scribe Michael Lesslie. While no timeline or commitments are in place yet, Reynolds’ desire to evolve the character in a new context — and share the screen with more X-Men — suggests the Merc with a Mouth isn’t done just yet, even if the days of solo outings are behind him… for now.
