Hugh, 55, and his wife of 27 years Deborra-Lee, 68, announced their shock split in September last year, telling fans they separated 'to pursue our individual growth'.
In the action franchise, known for breaking the fourth wall, Ryan's character Deadpool makes a cheeky reference to Hugh's divorce. As well as starring in the upcoming film, Ryan - who is known for his sense of humour and jokey verbal sparring with Hugh - also served as a credited writer. The close friends have been leaving fans in stitches by pranking each other throughout their global Deadpool press tour ahead of the film's July 25 release.
