Roku Discloses Breach of More Than 15,000 Streaming Accounts
Roku said it has secured 15,363 streaming user accounts after "unauthorized individuals" obtained login access to them.
The company disclosed the breach on Friday, March 8, in a filing with the Maine Attorney General’s Office. “It appears likely that the same username/password combinations had been used as login information for such third-party services as well as certain individual Roku accounts. According to the letter, the affected Roku accounts did not provide the unauthorized actors with access to Social Security numbers, full payment account numbers, dates of birth, or other “similar sensitive personal information requiring notification.”
