Phillip Schofield's TV return struggles in the ratings amid negative fan reaction

Phillip Schofield's TV comeback has been a ratings disaster as the final part of his Channel 5 Cast Away documentary is due to air on Wednesday after it was panned by critics

The series was intended to repair his tarnished public image, yet it backfired with viewers criticising him for seeming "narcissistic" and showing no remorse for the scandal that caused his professional downfall. To add insult to injury, ITV's crime drama Joan, featuring Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner, overshadowed Phillip's return by pulling in over 2 million viewers. The show has been described as "an authentic and intense physical and mental challenge", with Phillip left alone on a deserted island for 10 days, armed only with a camera to document his experience, reports the Mirror.
