Patricia Clarkson says a 'very ugly' interaction with Harvey Weinstein in the 2000s motivated her to star in the #MeToo drama 'She Said'

Patricia Clarkson says an "ugly" incident with Harvey Weinstein in the 2000s during her Oscar campaign motivated her to join the #MeToo movie "She Said."

But Clarkson told Business Insider that acclaim would be accompanied by "threatening" from then-Miramax Film head Harvey Weinstein, who, after an argument with the actor, promised she would never work again. The low-budget indie starred Clarkson opposite then-unknowns Peter Dinklage and Bobby Cannavale as a trio of outsiders who build a friendship at an abandoned New Jersey train station. Universal Pictures Clarkson told BI she doesn't talk about the incident with Weinstein often, adding that many women were emotionally and physically abused by him more severely.
