Moana fans delight as first-look image is released ahead of highly-anticipated sequel
A first-look image from the upcoming animated fantasy feature Moana 2 was released on Wednesday. A slightly-older version of the character was seen while holding an oar.
The movie was centered on the navigator of the same name, who set out in search of demigod Maui in order to enlist his help in bringing an ancient relic back to an ocean goddess. Johnson also spoke about the upcoming live-action remake of Moana and stated that the film's producers had cast an actress in the leading role, although he would not mention any names. The development of the upcoming remake of the movie was first revealed publicly last April, and it was also announced that the Ocean Cruise star would reprise his role as Maui.
