Matthew Perry investigation closed by LA police after coroner ruled on cause of death

The Los Angeles Police Department has officially closed its investigation into the death of much loved Friends actor Matthew Perry, after the coroner ruled it 'accidental'

Other factors contributing to his death included drowning, heart disease, and the impact of the prescription drug buprenorphine, used for treating opioid addiction. The LAPD confirmed to People magazine that the case is now closed, with records from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner also sealed. He had previously been receiving ketamine infusion therapy to treat depression but his last session came a week and a half before his tragic death, while the drug only stays in the system for three to four hours.
