Korea Takes Center Stage as First-Ever Country of Honor at 2025 Banff World Media Festival

The Banff World Media Festival has named Korea as its inaugural Country of Honor for the 2025 edition.

The recognition comes as Korean content continues its rise in the international entertainment landscape, with the 46th annual festival set to showcase the nation’s creative prowess from June 8-11 at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel in Alberta, Canada. The partnership with the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) will bring a delegation of top Korean producers, industry leaders and talent to the Canadian Rockies, with Yoo-Hyun-seok, acting president of KOCCA, emphasizing the significance of the collaboration: “Korea’s presence at BANFF underscores the strength and appeal of K-content on a global scale. K-content will be prominently featured throughout the festival programming, culminating in a tribute during the Rockie Awards ceremony on June 9 that will celebrate Korea’s cultural impact on the worldwide media landscape.
