How UK-born Anna Samson grew up in Nigeria before breaking away from her Home and Away roots (and a romance with her co-star!) to star as Death In Paradise's first female lead detective

Return to Paradise will be set in sun-soaked Australia and follows DI Mackenzie Clarke as she solves a whole host of mysterious murders.

Last year, Anna also appeared in the play Consent, which she also performed at The Seymour Centre, and shines a light on the handling of sexual misconduct allegations in court, through the perspectives of two different lawyers and their families. The new series' offical synopsis reads: 'Return to Paradise follows DI Mackenzie Clarke, an Australian ex-pat who's made a name for herself in London's Metropolitan Police for cracking uncrackable murder cases'. Sue Deeks, Head of BBC Programme Acquisition, said: 'Everything we all love about Death in Paradise - the humour, the beautiful scenery, the likeable characters, the ingenious plots - now in a fabulous Australian setting'.
