Gerard Depardieu to Stand Trial on Criminal Sexual Assault Charges

French actor Gerard Depardieu was detained in France for questioning over two sexual assault claims that allegedly took place in 2014 and 2021.

She previously told the newspaper, Le Courrier de l’Ouest, that Depardieu groped her “all over’ and made “inappropriate” comments. She told the investigative website Mediapart that Depardieu grabbed her while she was leaving the film’s set at a hotel in Paris. Depardieu is currently facing rape and sexual assault charges tied to allegations made by the actress Charlotte Arnould (that case is still working its way through the French court system).
