Carla Gugino Talks Playing A Mom At 27 In “Spy Kids,” Working With Melissa Benoist In “Girls On The Bus,” And More

Carla Gugino takes us behind the scenes of some of her most famous roles, including working with Melissa Benoist in Girls on the Bus, her performances in The Fall of the House of Usher, Spy Kids, and more.

From Spy Kids to Watchmen to being a formidable force in several of director and writer Mike Flanagan's horror projects, Carla has made her mark in countless genres and has created many memorable characters. I do think that Grace is a really interesting example of a woman who is coming to terms with the consequences of her family life, in which she has always felt a bit like a failure, but her husband has really covered a lot of that ground for her. I've worked with Robert De Niro a couple of times in my career, which is such an awesome experience on both counts, but he's really great at collecting stuff, and I wish I had learned that earlier.
