Carey Mulligan is picked up and carried out of the Oscars by husband Marcus Mumford after losing Best Actress award to Emma Stone

The Maestro star, 38, was picked up and carried down a long corridor in the arms of her singer-songwriter husband, 37, to the tune of I'm Just Ken.

This year, Mulligan was nominated in the Best Actress category alongside Annette Bening (Nyad), Lily Gladstone (Killers of the Flower Moon), Sandra Huller (Anatomy of a Fall) and winner Emma Stone (Poor Things). The Oscar nominee — who received a nod in the Best Actress category for her performance in Maestro — was seen smiling and giggling despite losing the award to Poor Things star Emma Stone. This year's Academy Awards was in stark contrast to the 2021 ceremony — the last Oscars red carpet she walked — with Covid restrictions meaning she was only permitted to bring her husband Marcus Mumford.
