Michelle Yeoh stepped in on Monday to clear up an awkward miscommunication when she presented Emma Stone with her Oscar at the 96th Academy Awards on Sunday.
When Emma's name was called — which shocked some viewers, as Killers Of The Flower Moon star Lily Gladstone had been considered the frontrunner after winning more prior awards — she hilariously turned around to reveal to the presenters and former winners that the back of her dress had ripped earlier in the evening. A follow-up snap showed Emma surrounded by Michelle, Jennifer and the other three presenters, Jessica Lange, Charlize Theron and Sally Field. Some viewers were shocked when Emma beat out apparent frontrunner Lily Gladstone, but she and the Killers Of The Flower Moon actress have been 'fast friends' since the start of awards season; seen together at the Oscars with fellow nominee Annette Bening
