aespa member Winter has had 'preventive' surgery to treat a collapse lung.
The K- pop group’s label, SM Entertainment, released a statement on Friday (April 12) describing the procedure to treat a pneumorthorax, a condition in which air accumulates in the chest, applying pressure on the lungs and possibly leading to collapse. According to South Korean news outlet Newsen, the SM statement read, “Winter is recovering from recent pneumothorax surgery. Winter of aespa attends Music Bank Global Festival 2023 at KBS Wedding Hall in Yeongdeungpo-gu on Dec. 15, 2023 in Seoul, South Korea.
