‘Peaches Goes Bananas,’ Marie Losier’s Documentary About Feminist Queer Trailblazer, Bought for North America

Film Movement has acquired North America rights to 'Peaches Goes Bananas,' a documentary about the trailblazing musician and producer.

Losier is best known for directing critically lauded documentaries including “The Ballad of Genesis and Lady Jaye,” which won the Teddy Award at the Berlinale in 2011; “Cassandro El Exotico!,” winner of the Cannes ACID section in 2018; and “Felix in Wonderland,” which had its world premiere in Locarno in 2019. “After releasing Marie’s wonderful ‘Cassandro the Exotico,’ we eagerly waited to see whose story she would put her indelible stamp on next,” said Michael Rosenberg, president of Film Movement who announced the deal with Martin Gondre at Best Friends Forever. “Once we saw ‘Peaches Goes Bananas,’ we were transfixed by her unconventional portrait of a true queer icon and know that it’ll resonate with audiences across North America,” he continued.
