Zsofia Szilagyi's 'January 2' has debuted its trailer ahead of the film's premiere at Venice Film Festival. Films Boutique is handling sales.
“January 2” marks Szilágyi’s return to the festival circuit after her debut feature “One Day” premiered in Cannes Critics’ Week in 2018, where the film won the Fipresci award. “One Day” had a long and wide-ranging international career with premieres in Sydney, New Horizons, Melbourne, Sarajevo (Heart of Sarajevo for best actress), Cineast Luxembourg (grand prix), the Hamptons, Denver, AFI, Cork, Cairo (best actress award), and Cleveland (best film), and it even played in the Berlinale in 2020. Gabor Greiner, chief operating officer of Films Boutique, said: “We are very proud to continue our successful collaboration with Zsofi Szilagyi who in her new deeply entertaining venture, just like she did in ‘One Day,’ depicts with freshness and extreme clarity the end of a relationship.
