Zoe Saldaña Fitted With Costume Designers Guild’s 2025 Spotlight Award

'Emilia Pérez' co-star and 'Lioness' lead Zoe Saldaña will receive the Costume Designers Guild's 2025 Spotlight Award during the 27th CDG Awards in February.

The guild notes that Saldaña is a fitting honoree in that she can inhabit a costume and make the character come alive no matter how elaborate or otherworldly — from Neytiri in the Avatar films to Gamora in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise and beyond. She plays cartel lawyer Rita Mora Castro in Jacques Audiard’s Spanish-language musical crime comedy Emilia Pérez, which is riding huge awards-season buzz. Since breaking out role in Center Stage a quarter-century ago, the New Jersey native’s credits also include Crossroads, Drumline, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, The Losers, Takers, Colombiana and the NBC miniseries Rosemary’s Baby.
