Zoe Ball is 'smiling through tough times' says her son Woody amid absence from BBC Radio 2 show


Zoe Ball has been missing from her BBC Radio 2 breakfast show for six weeks, but her son Woddy has shared an update about his well-loved mother

Zoe, who is the BBC' s highest female earner, has been off the airwaves since August 8, leaving fans worried about her. BBC bosses reportedly told Zoe, 53, to "take all the time she needs" off work following the death of her mother earlier this year. Zoe said in a tribute to her late mum Julia Peckham: "Thank you for teaching us how to love unconditionally, to always show courage and empathy, and how, even in the darkest of days, laughter is the greatest of gifts.
