Zoe Ball heads on shopping trip after BBC Radio 2 return following six week absence

BBC Radio 2 DJ Zoe Ball returned to work earlier this week, and has been spotted on a shopping trip in London after she finished presenting the breakfast show

The broadcaster, who is the BBC’s highest paid female star, has had a tough year following the death of her mother Julia Peckham, who passed away in April following a battle with pancreatic cancer. Greeting her listeners at the crack of dawn after her six-week break, she said: "Morning gorgeous people it’s me Zoe the happy wanderer. While Zoe didn't offer a full explanation about her absence, she said earlier in the year she felt "bereft" following her mum's death, and her son Woody- who she shares with ex Norman Cook (Fatboy Slim) - recently said he'd been 'stepping up' at home.
