Zendaya says she's 'not in charge' of whether Euphoria will return for third season after postponement: 'It's beyond me'
Zendaya doesn't want anxious Euphoria fans looking to her for answers on when the show's long-delayed third season might begin shooting.
Last month, HBO confirmed that season three was still in the works and that series creator Sam Levinson was in the process of writing scripts, though Zendaya's comments suggest she isn't even certain that the show will return at all, let alone on a delayed schedule. Levinson reportedly wrote the third season with a five-year time jump and 'meaty arcs' for Sydney Sweeney and Jacob Elordi, but Zendaya wasn't a fan of the new direction, though the publication notes that she does not have veto power over the scripts. Levinson originally planned to make Zendaya's character Rue less prominent and gave her a surprising storyline as a private detective, which HBO reportedly turned down despite liking other parts of the first version of scripts.
