YSL Trial: Two More Defendants Take Plea Deals in Young Thug’s RICO Case

Two more defendants in the Young Thug YSL case accepted plea deals. The rapper is now on trial with only two other co-defendants.

The new judge presiding over the racketeering and gang prosecution of rapper Young Thug and several other defendants said Friday, July 19, 2024, that the trial has gone on for a really long time and she plans to move it forward expeditiously. “We categorically and adamantly deny that YSL is the criminal and dangerous street gang that it has been made out to be during this trial,” Ryan’s lawyer, Leah Abbasi, told the court during the plea hearing. In the Oct. 23 evidence flub, rapper Wunnie “SlimeLife Shawty” Lee, a former defendant who took a prior plea deal, read aloud to the jury a portion of an Instagram caption that was supposed to be redacted.
