X Factor stars announce engagement after 'surprise' proposal - 8 years on from meeting on the series
Jamaal Shurland, from R&B group Rak-Su, asked his partner Shereen Cutkelvin to marry him over the weekend in Scotland during a 'surprise' proposal.
Rak-Su, who have won legions of fans following their stint on the show, previously revealed their name derives from the phrase Tracks vs Suits meaning Music & fun vs Adult Life. Rak-Su's unique sound - which was lauded as like nothing X Factor had heard before - has been described as electric and spanning genres such as grime,RnB, hip-hop and spoken word. BBC Scotland commissioning executive Heather Kane-Darling added that Sheeran ‘will bring her enthusiasm and love of music to our TRNSMT coverage’ and thanked Ms Bowman ‘for the brilliant job she has done’.
