Wynne Evans is slammed by women's charities for X-rated remark amid sex jibe scandal while his Strictly co-stars continue to support him as he celebrates his birthday during the show's tour

The singer, 53, was sent birthday tributes by some of the show's cast as he marked the occasion during the Strictly tour.

Wynne returned to the Strictly stage on Sunday after being forced to pull out of Friday's show due to injury, and told the audience at Glasgow's Hydro Arena he'd 'not had the best day.' Wynne was recorded crudely suggesting a three-way sex session with It Takes Two presenter and professional dancer Janette Manrara, using the demeaning term 'spit roast' during a photocall to launch the Strictly live tour. The move to welcome back the star on the tour was condemned by women's rights campaigners, who criticised the BBC following a string of scandals including allegations of sexually inappropriate behaviour by Masterchef's Gregg Wallace.
