Will Smith Makes Awards Show Return After Oscars Slap With Quincy Jones Tribute at the Grammys: ‘He Changed My Life Forever’

Will Smith returned to awards shows for the first time since slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars, introducing a tribute to Quincy Jones at the Grammys.

Will Smith made his first return to a major televised awards show Sunday evening, appearing at the Grammys to open a tribute to the late Quincy Jones. The Quincy Jones tribute marks the first time Smith has appeared and presented at a major awards show since the infamous ‘slap’ with Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars nearly three years ago. Smith is part of a star-studded presenter lineup that includes 14-time Grammy winner Taylor Swift, last year’s best new artist winner Victoria Monét, Anthony Kiedis & Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Cardi B, Gloria Estefan, Olivia Rodrigo, Queen Latifah and SZA, with comedian Trevor Noah serving as host.
