In a clip posted on the Blue Bloods Instagram page, Frank Reagan is seen talking to Garrett Moore and Sid Gormley about Mayor Peter Chase. “The mayor reminded me that the public advocate is in charge in his absence,” Frank says during the scene, to which Garrett replies, “Which was his duty and the right thing to do.” “I think in my alternate ending, the result on the audience would be that Frank Reagan remains a man alone, who never wanted the job he had, that has a hyperactive sense of responsibility, and I think he’d be commissioner till he drops.”
