Will Ferrell Says He's 'So Proud' of Anchorman's 'Legacy' as the Film Celebrates Its 20th Anniversary

Will Ferrell told PEOPLE he is 'so proud' of the legacy of 'Anchorman' — which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year — while attending the New York City premiere of 'Despicable Me 4' on June 9.

The beloved film, whose full title is Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, stars Ferrell, 56, as the titular broadcaster alongside a news team comprised of Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, Christina Applegate and David Koechner. Though he hasn’t stepped back into Burgundy’s politically incorrect shoes since the film’s 2013 sequel, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues — on the big screen, at least — Ferrell is just as proud of the movie on its 20th anniversary as he was when it was first released.
