Why Was Jonathan Joss Killed? Updates on Shooter’s Motive

Joss was murdered in San Antonio, Texas, in what his husband alleged was a hate crime, while police say there is no evidence pointing to such.

Shortly thereafter, his husband, Tristan Kern De Gonzales, claimed that Joss’ killing was a hate crime and that the newlyweds had been victims of prior homophobic attacks in the area. He had also appeared in Walker, Texas Ranger, The Wild Thornberrys, Charmed, ER, In Plain Sight, Friday Night Lights, Parks and Recreation and Tulsa King, according to his IMDb profile. The San Antonio Police Department responded to his allegations, saying, “Despite online claims of this being a hate crime, currently the investigation has found no evidence to indicate that the Mr. Joss’s murder was related to his sexual orientation.”
