Why King Charles and Prince Harry's Feud Is 'Relatable' and 'A Tragedy'

King Charles III and Prince Harry’s feud explained by a family therapist, exploring why their public and private dynamics impact reconciliation

“As a mental health professional, it’s a tragedy when the public perception takes precedence over the private relationship,” Dr. Gail Saltz exclusively told Us Weekly on Friday, May 9. While Dr. Saltz is not affiliated with the royals, the medical professional is hopeful the family can “privately talk about what they want in a relationship moving forward.” However, Charles, 76, and Harry’s public figure statuses have an impact on making that happen. Dr. Saltz, who is a clinical associate professor of psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medical College, added that given the royal family’s status, it can be “hard to see how valued the private [relationship] is” due to the “strict rules” for the public side of the group’s dynamic.
