In fact, it was quite obvious that The Residence didn’t actually cast Jackman so they used different actors to commit to the bit and give off the illusion that he was there all night tap dancing, taking naps in the White House and more. Davies noted that the show “quickly pivoted” to Ben Bigler and Justin Ellis Johnson playing Jackman, adding, “I thought, you know what, I’ll do this in a way that’s fun and kind of leans into it. The Residence was a star-studded series with Susan Kelechi Watson, Jason Lee, Ken Marino, Edwina Findley, Randall Park and Molly Griggs appearing as well.
