Based on Julia Quinn’s book Romancing Mr. Bridgerton, season 3 largely focused on Colin (Luke Newton) and Penelope’s (Nicola Coughlan) evolution from friends to lovers. While Netflix has yet to prominently feature Lady Violet ( Ruth Gemmel) hosting the bash onscreen, it plays a pivotal role in Benedict’s literary love story. “The honest answer is ‘I don’t know,’ but I know it’s so lovely [and] one of the best things about TV jobs is you get to really explore a character long-form like that and sort of fill him in slowly,” Thompson said on The View earlier this month.
