Ahead of hosting his final Comic Relief telethon on Friday night, the comedian made an appearance on The One Show, before heading to the Arlington restaurant with his partner Lisa Makin. Reflecting on his decision to leave the show, he said that he 'missed his gang' of comics who previously presented the programme with him in the 80s, including Billy Connolly, the late Victoria Wood and ex-wife Dawn French. The couple were married for 25 years before calling it a day in 2010, in an interview following their split Dawn said: 'We seem to have shifted with relative ease from a 25-year marriage to a lasting friendship'
