His wife, Amy previously known by Murphy and Hasten is a newscaster who has received both Emmy awards and nominations for her work on the 2002 Winter Olympics with FOX News (pictured: Eric in 2007) Following news of his death fans and musicians alike outpoured with condolences, with Kiss frontman Paul Stanley leading the tributes to the legendary singer. After the band disbanded in 1975, the crooner cultivated a fruitful solo career landing on the Billboard Hot 100 multiple times with songs such as All By Myself, It Hurts Too Much and The Way We Used To Be.
