As Kiara hears the retelling, the film flashes back to Mufasa’s upbringing, particularly following the story of his relationship with another lion named Taka, who later becomes the villainous Scar. Beyoncé won the Best Music Video Grammy for her song “Brown Skin Girl,” which was featured on the 2019 soundtrack The Lion King: The Gift. “It’s been a joy working alongside Barry Jenkins to bring Mufasa’s story to life and we can’t wait for audiences to experience this film in theaters.”
