He was hit with drama when it was reported he had cheated on his Downton Abbey star wife Amy Nuttall and was said to have broken their seven marriage rules. The actor, 45, hails from Stockport, Cheshire, and began his acting career in theatre before securing his first TV r ole in 2006 when he appeared as St. John Rivers in the mini-series Jane Eyre. In the series, Leila's character, DI Lou Slack, had a dodgy relationship with crime boss Col McHugh, played by Andrew.
