Taking over Katy’s seat is none other than American Idol winner Carrie Underwood ‘, who first rose to fame when she won the competition in 2005. The country superstar expressed her excitement about joining the show in a new role, sharing during an interview on Good Morning America, “It’s really cool to be on the other side of things.” She continued, “To get to play music and sing is wonderful, and we get to help somebody, or many other people hopefully, achieve that.”
