Another huge presence in Sun Hill and in the cast, Kevin starred as Tosh for many years but his alcohol problem led to him being sacked from the show in 1998 after turning up to the set and struggling with his lines. The awful news was broken online by his niece Louise, who wrote on Twitter: "Unfortunately George Rossi who played DC Duncan Lennox passed away the morning of Wednesday 5th January 2022." Eric experienced heartbreaking family tragedy when his two-month-old grandson Charlie Smith tragically lost his life in the devastating 2004 Boxing Day tsunami in Sri Lanka.
