Coronation Street's Peacock Family stormed ITV screens when they arrived to the cobbles in the 1990s.
A statement from his agent to the PA news agency said: 'We are sad to announce the death of the actor John Savident who died on Wednesday 21 February, he was a much-loved husband and father of two and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.' Along with his work in Coronation Street, the actor appeared in several stage shows including Holby City and The Bill and even had a small role in Stanley Kubrick's classic A Clockwork Orange in 1971 as conspirator Dolin. At first Julia, 44, took a break from acting but later on came back to the screens and played in a slew of TV shows including The Dumping Ground (2017), The Royals (2018), Clink (2019) and more recently the renowned Call The Midwife in 2021 as Doris Owen
