Where are Gene Hackman's dogs now as footage of pup's final act emerges

WARNING - DISTRESSING CONTENT: Two of Gene Hackman's dogs survived after the legendary actor and his wife, Betsy, were found dead in their home on February 26, 2025

After weeks of enduring what authorities have labelled a "house of death," two of Gene Hackman's dogs miraculously survived the tragic incident that saw the legendary actor and his wife, Betsy, found dead in their home on February 26. The video captures Bear - Gene and Betsy's seven year old German shepherd - anxiously staring at her body as she is discovered in the property's bathroom in Santa Fe. Medical examiners concluded that Betsy, a renowned classical pianist, died from hantavirus pulmonary syndrome around February 12, a rare condition caused by rodent droppings and urine.
