As Emmerdale continues to captivate audiences with its dramatic plots and anniversary specials, The Mirror has taken a nostalgic trip down memory lane to revisit the original cast and their subsequent journeys. He played the estranged son of Annie and her late husband Jacob Sugden, remaining on the soap until 1976 before the character made a return to the Yorkshire village four years later, this time portrayed by actor Clive Hornby for an impressive 28-year run.
