When the 'Quiet on Set' Directors Knew They Were on to Something Big
It didn't take long for Quiet on Set directors Emma Schwartz and Mary Robertson to realize they were on to something big with their explosive Investigation Discovery docuseries detailing accusations of toxic on-set behavior at Nickelodeon during the 1990s and early 200s.
Mary Roberts, co-director of Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV, knew the docuseries was tapping into something important as she recorded All That cast member Bryan Hearne telling a story about peanut butter and dogs. The writers, along with other former Nickelodeon child actors including Giovanni Samuels, Leon Frierson and Shane Lyons, also accuse Schneider of creating a culture of fear on set that made them feel that they could not refuse requests even if they were uncomfortable.
