When the 'Freaky Friday' Sequel Begins Filming and Who Is Directing

After years of speculation about a sequel, it appears it's finally a go after the studio tapped a director.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, who was first to break the news about landing Ganatra, the wheels are now in motion for production to begin ramping up this summer and film the project in Los Angeles. The outlet also reported that the 2003 comedy's original stars, Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis, are in negotiations to reprise their daughter-mother roles. Additionally, ET had learned a script was being worked on by Elyse Hollander, a newcomer screenwriter best known for penning the Black List-beloved screenplay, Blonde Ambition.
