What do red pins at Oscars mean as Billie Eilish and brother Finneas make statement?

Singer Billie Eilish and her brother and co-songwriter Finneas wore red "Artists4Ceasefire" pins to call for peace in the Middle East as they attended 96th Annual Academy Awards

Jonathan continued: "Right now we stand here as men who refute their Jewishness and the Holocaust being hijacked by an occupation which has led to conflict for so many innocent people, whether the victims of October 7 in Israel or the ongoing attack in Gaza." The red protest badges won by Billie and Finneas aren't making their first appearance, as members of Boygenius Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus, and Julien Bake, wore them at this year's Grammys. And at this year's Emmy Awards, The Crown actor Khalid Abdalla called for a ceasefire by writing "Never Again" on his hand as he walked the red carpet.
