WGA East Ratifies First Union Contract With Nonfiction Producer Story Syndicate Nearly 2 Years After Organizing Workers
After nearly two years of bargaining, the WGA East has secured a deal with nonfiction producer Story Syndicate
The MPEG and the Writers Guild of America East won their joint effort to unionize producers and editorial employees at Story Syndicate in 2023 and have been negotiating since. At the time, more than 250 members of the unions called on the company to “be the industry leaders they are and set a precedent others can follow to create a truly inclusive and transparent work environment.” Earlier this month, the MPEG, which still does not have a finalized deal, petitioned outside of the Tribeca premiere of Story Syndicate’s OceanGate submersible documentary Titan.
