Iconic auteur Werner Herzog is divulging his best advice for aspiring filmmakers: Go and get some real world experience, the more bizarre the better. The “Grizzly Man” director said that he “would give away everything” when trying to finance projects, and referred to films as the real “loot” instead of his paycheck. Also among Herzog’s on set go-to’s: Knowing how to pick a lock, forge a shooting permit, and use bolt cutters.
