Former talk show host Wendy Williams called in for an interview on The View this morning, speaking passionately about her recent travails of life in a memory care unit that made headlines when she went out to dinner with her niece and may or may not have had permission to leave the assisted living facility. The situation was the latest incident in which Williams had publicly insisted that she did not need to live in a memory care unit and, in fact, wanted a new guardian and a new judge in the case that landed her in confinement. (In addition to Graves disease, Williams reportedly has been diagnosed with dementia and aphasia; while she had said in the past that she suffers from substance abuse issues, she told The View today that she no longer drinks except for one birthday celebration last July).
