Weezer’s Coachella Set Will Go Ahead — ‘As of Now’ — After Shooting Involving Scott Shriner’s Wife

Weezer’s Coachella set will go ahead this weekend despite a horrific incident in which bassist Scott Shriner's wife was shot by the LAPD.

Sources tell Variety that Weezer ’s Coachella performance will go ahead this weekend despite a horrific incident in which Jillian Shriner, wife of the band’s longtime bassist Scott Shriner, was shot by the LAPD and arrested Tuesday on suspicion of attempted murder during a search for a hit-and-run suspect. Police said they asked her to drop the weapon multiple times, but she refused, instead turning it on the officers, per the LAPD’s report on the incident. After being shot, Jillian Shriner ran inside her home, later reemerging with her babysitter, according to local news reports.
