Weather maps show one part of the UK set to miss out on snow this weekend


The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice across England from 12pm on Saturday until Sunday, but one corner of the country looks set to escape

The frosty conditions will sweep through a long list of areas including Derby, Derbyshire, Leicester, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, Rutland, Bedford, Cambridgeshire, Central Bedfordshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Luton, Norfolk, Peterborough, Southend-on-Sea, Suffolk, Thurrock, Bracknell Forest, Buckinghamshire, East Sussex, Greater London, Hampshire, Kent, Medway, Milton Keynes, Oxfordshire, Reading, Slough, Surrey, West Berkshire, West Sussex, Windsor and Maidenhead, Wokingham, Darlington, Durham, Gateshead, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Newcastle upon Tyne, North Tyneside, Northumberland, Redcar and Cleveland, South Tyneside, Stockton-on-Tees, Sunderland, Blackburn with Darwen, Blackpool, Cheshire East, Cheshire West and Chester, and Cumbria. The Met Office five-day forecast predicts a cold and frosty night for all with possible icy stretches, especially in the north where wintry showers will persist in coastal areas exposed to the northerly winds.
