Midland stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live to perform their new song “Lone Star State of Mind.” The Texas group showcased the pensive country anthem for the excited late-night crowd, offering a preview of their forthcoming LP, Barely Blue, out Sept. 20. “Dave Cobb had been a producer we wanted to work with since we first heard Sturgill Simpson’s Metamodern Sounds in Country Music,” lead singer and guitarist Mark Wystrach said in a statement around the announcement. They’re set to perform at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville on Sept. 17 and will continue touring through September, October, November, and December around North America.
