Warner Bros. Taps Legendary’s Sirena Liu to Head China Theatrical Ops
Warner Bros. Pictures has recruited veteran distribution exec Sirena Liu as its new general manager, theatrical for China.
Liu’s stint at Legendary included shepherding “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” (2024) and “A Minecraft Movie” (2025) to become the highest-grossing imported films in China during their respective years of release. Her strategic acumen helped Legendary Pictures claim the second position among all Hollywood studios in China’s annual box office in both 2021 and 2024. “Sirena is a powerhouse executive with a deep understanding of the Chinese film landscape and an impressive record of performance,” said Jeff Goldstein, president of global distribution at Warner Bros. Pictures.
